Green Sanctuary of Peace It's not only the natives who appreciate Wiesbaden for its varieties of trees, expansive parks and neat woodlands, but also the multitude of visitors to Hessen's capital city. And few who marvel at the impressive facades of turn-of-the-century architecture along the Taunusstrasse guess that, behind this classical front, generations of Wiesbadeners have found peace and tranquility in the street's carefully tended terraced gardens. The idea of offering our guests a green retreat in the middle of the city appealed to us from the start. Tangled brambles and crumbling masonry had to be among the renovations. Our landscape artists produced a set of cascading Mediterranean terraces replete with herb garden, exotic palms, fig trees and a 190 year olive tree. Here in slumbering shadows our guests can stroll or lounge at the end of a busy day of sightseeing or business, unwinding at their own pace.
